In June 2007, the American Ballroom Theater hired John Ross to facilitate the development of the Dancing Classrooms National Network. Formerly the Executive Director of the Tarrant County Youth Collaboration in Fort Worth, Texas, Mr. Ross provided leadership to bring Dancing Classrooms to the Fort Worth/Dallas community beginning in March 2006.
Mr. Ross has spent the bulk of his professional career working with and for children. Beginning in 1976, Mr. Ross has served as:
- Associate Executive Director for the Arlington Family YMCA (Texas)
- Founder and Managing Partner of Fourth Street Project, Inc., an Arlington, Texas outpatient mental health facility for children 3-12 who are experiencing a range of emotional and behavioral difficulties
- Vice President for Community Initiatives for United Way of Metropolitan Tarrant County
- Vice President for Planning and Public Policy for Camp Fire USA First Texas Council
